Before starting, please make sure you have FileZilla installed on your computer.
FileZilla is a FREE FTP program, and is available to download from http://filezilla-project.org/
Downloading Files (Copying files from the Aussiecom web server to your computer)
Uploading Files (Copying files from your computer to the Aussiecom web server)
1. On your computer, please open up FileZilla.
2. The FileZilla window is made up of several different sections.

Message Log - This section will tell you the status of FileZilla, whether you are connected to the server, disconnected from the server, which files are being uploaded/downloaded etc.
Local Site - The local site will display the files and folders on your computer.
Remote Site - The remote site will display the files and folders on the server you are connected to.
Transfer Queue - This section will tell you which files you have selected for either uploading or downloading.
The most important sections of the FileZilla window will be the Local Site and Remote Site, however both are easy to navigate once you know what you are looking at!
TIP - Local Site (your computer) - Make sure all your website files are in the 1 location/folder so you will always remember where the files are. e.g. Create a folder on your desktop called 'website files' and always remember to upload and download to the 'website files' folder.
2. The next step is to learn how to connect to the server. Along the top of the FileZilla window, find the 'Site Manager' button and click it. It is the first button on the left, on the second row.

3. The Site Manager window will open. This will allow you to save your FTP Account details for your hosting account, so you don't have to enter them in each time.

4. In the Site Manager window, find and click the 'New Folder' button. Rename the new folder to 'website' or something similar.
5. With the new folder selected, find and click the 'New Site' button. The 'General' tab on the right hand side of the Site Manager window will become active.
6. Using the FTP account details that Aussiecom have provided you with, enter in the Host, User and Password.

For example -
Host: ftp.yourdomain.com.au
Logontype: Normal
User: domainftp
Password: something
7. You can also specify which folder loads up in the Local Site and Remote Site sections when you connect to this particular FTP account. Click the 'Advanced' tab.

In the Default Local Directory field, click the 'browse' button find and select your website folder e.g. 'website files'.
In the Default Remote Directory field, type in /httpdocs/ . This is the folder where your website files are located on the server.
8. Click 'Connect' to save the FTP account details and connect to the server.
9. The main FileZilla window will now refresh - the Remote Site section should load up with the server structure.
NOTE - All of your website files are located in the 'httpdocs' folder on the server.
10. To upload a file to the server, find and click the file you wish to upload in the Local Site section.
11. Right-click the selected file and click 'Upload'.

12. The Message Log and Transfer Queue sections of FileZilla will update as the file is uploaded to the Remote Site.
13. To download a file to your computer, find and click the file you wish to download from the Remote Site.
14. Right-click the selected file and select 'Download'.

15. The Message Log and Transfer Queue sections of FileZilla will update as the file is downloaded to the Local Site.
16. Once you've finished uploading and downloading files, click the 'Disconnect' button to close your connection to the server. It is located on the second row, and will feature a red cross.
