Hosting plan space usage Print

  • 0

If you've reached the storage space limit of your hosting plan it will cause the following problems -

1) your website may not work as expected
2) emails sent to you may be temporarily rejected and the sender may not be informed of this for hours and possibly days
3) you may not be able to send emails
4) you may have other email problems/errors

The options to resolve the hosting space usage problems are -

OPTION 1) Upgrade to a larger hosting plan: Please contact Aussiecom staff regarding this option.

OPTION 2) Turn on 'Autoarchive': You can configure 'autoarchive' (if you use Outlook), so that Outlook regularly moves older emails off our server and into your archive folder which is stored locally on your computer. You can then still see these old/archived emails in Outlook on your computer but not on any other devices. Instructions here - https://www.aussiecom.com.au/clients/index.php/knowledgebase/3

OPTION 3) Change from IMAP to POP account: Configure your email account as a POP account instead of an IMAP account (so your old emails get stored locally on your computer instead of on our server). This is not an option if you want to sync email folders (eg. Sent folder, Drafts folder) across multiple devices.

OPTION 4) Manually delete or archive unwanted emails: This can be time consuming and you may need to do this within several email folders (eg. SENT, JUNK, DELETED ITEMS, INBOX, etc.).

OPTION 5) Use Gmail as your email client: You can use Gmail instead of Outlook as your email client. 15GB of space which is included with each free gmail address (however if you also add files/photos/videos to 'Google Drive' they are counted towards this limit). This option requires us to make a few changes at this end, and send some relatively simple instructions for you to follow at your end. Please note that we can't help with the actual migration of your past emails from your current mailbox into your gmail account. This would need to be done by your IT person.

If you have any questions regarding this please contact Aussiecom.
